Give your child the best chance for a healthy, confident smile.

The Canadian Association of Orthodontists recommends that children see an orthodontist by age 7—even if no obvious problems are present. At this age, we can spot hidden concerns in jaw growth and tooth development that may not be visible to parents or even monitored by general dentists. Learn more about what we look for.

Many orthodontic issues, like impacted teeth, missing adult teeth, and jaw imbalances, can only be detected through X-rays and a specialist’s evaluation. Some problems, if not addressed by age 10, may require later jaw surgery or more complex treatment later in life.

Even if early treatment isn’t needed, our office provides specialist monitoring at no charge at part of our Kirk Orthodontic Kids Club until all the adult teeth are in—ensuring your child’s smile develops properly. An early orthodontic screening at Kirk Orthodontics is truly a no-brainer!
